Flytech Bladestar Review

Flytech Bladestar is a helicopter toy made from WowWee that can fly indoors. And you can relax it will not destroy the entire house.

There is a remote control via which you can control the helicopter and make it go where you want it to. You have the chance to use IR and control the direction of the helicopter with a thumbpad and the height with a slider.

It is vital to know that when you hold the controller the black circles should look at the Flytech Bladestar. In the box you will also find 2 extra Styrofoam rotors and 2 extra plastic propellers, all in a useful box that you can store the helicopter when not in use.

You need to place batteries into the remote to make it work and you can then charge the helicopter via the remote using the cord that is in the back of the remote controller. If you charge the helicopter for around 1o minutes it will fly for about 5 minutes. Although you will see it lose height after 3 or 4 minutes.

The manufacturers wanted to make the helicopter light that is why they used a tiny battery that doesn’t last long. This is the only drawback of Flytech Bladestar. This will upset you because as you getting to play with it and enjoy the flight it will need recharging.

This toy is really lightweight and yet very resilient. It might crash a lot but still it won’t have any damages. The helicopter uses IR, that means that you need to have the controller looking right at the Bladestar and be really close, and sometimes it will fail you in going where you want it to.

And the other bad thing is that the autopilot mode will not always enable it to avoid the obstacles and you may see it crashing on walls or the ceiling.

But because of its sturdy design it will not be damaged unless it hits on something really hard. And the helicopter won’t damage something that it will fall onto; it is very light so such accidents are meaningless.

You also need to calibrate the helicopter efficiently to make sure that it will be responsive when you try to control it. Otherwise it may require to turn it on and off sometimes to get it started.

Moreover, there is the Dogfight accessory which allows you and another friend with a helicopter to start a fight on air. But because all the Flytech Bladestar use the same commands you may find that you control the opponent’s helicopter instead of yours.

Other remote controlled vehicles may need some extra care from the person that controls them but this one is substantially different. It can be used by little children as young as 8 years old. It is very light meaning that it will take off rather easily.
